Massage Therapy Center, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Deborah Luhrs. All massage therapists at our Center are licensed by the state, members of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and have passed the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Exam. Our goal is to provide pain relief from muscular aches and pains in a safe and comfortable environment.
As of December 1, 2008, Massage Therapy Center attained National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) Center of Excellence Status. Massage Therapy Center (MTC) achieved this distinction by promoting the highest professional standards in massage therapy.
The Massage Therapists at our office uphold the profession’s ideal measure of excellence and professionalism. These nationally certified practitioners demonstrate a high level of competency and adhere to NCBTMB’s rigorous Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, which were developed to protect the integrity and safety of all clients.
To become nationally certified, a practitioner must:
- – Demonstrate mastery of core skills & knowledge
- – Complete 500 + hours of massage education
- – Pass a NCBTMB standardized exam
- – Commit to safe and ethical practice
- – Take part in continuing education
